There are questions
that I want answers to
that I don’t want to ask
For fear of the answers
Or the consequences
Poems
Head ache
Tired beyond measure
The truth of things just taking shape
Can’t accept what I cannot change
Wanting you to hold me
As I fall apart
Rested is worse than sleep deprived
Disjointed connections
Lost in the noise
Swimming in the wander
Pain begins to bubble up
Hope trickles away
Tears falling
This frequency increases
A broken toy
Discarded
Fallen transition
The wind howls its pleasure
Standing the precipice
Eyes caress the night sky
Lovers long held
The storm whispers welcome
Kiss of chaos
Dance of order
Fury is its seeming
But love is its cause
Brush fingers across creation
Last embrace
Before it all begins
Tasting menu
Run red rivulet
Slashed jagged
Eager mouths pressed in
Slurping drops
To trickle
Tongue and lips sticky
Savoring the flesh
Scraping teeth
Hollow thump as crash
Breaking
Spattered across the ground
One step forward
One step forward
Eyes cast down
Heart threading
Waiting for a word of
Now
Explosive
Taking you in my arms
You are mine
I’ll not let you go
But you say
Pause
Wake the river
Whither to way
Or wither
Last rites of spring
Unpack come hither
Deceptive minx
All sunshine then stormy weather
Borrow trouble from the mother
Stir the blood
Wake it higher
Winter sleeps
Fitfully
The ear deceives
Barrow a cup of sugar
Sea son it with thyme
Wake in what her Lilly’s
Brake bread
In meet
In rime
Standing sentinel
a demon at the gate
A nightmare on the leash
A blood filled choice
Revenge given voice
Cries of pain
Give way to anguish
And the sudden silence
Of a cold moonlit night
Carcosa
Sleep soundly beneath
Breaking waves
Soft sounds
Bubbling to surface
Heat bleeds in
Endless nights
Cold seeping into thoughts
Ice shivers piercing dreams
Surfacing
Waking
Chased by a horror unsettled
